The story you've joined has an ending, and for you it is good news.
Jesus Christ is coming again. He promised it plainly: "I will come again, and receive you unto myself" (John 14:3).
For you, that means death is not the end. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8). One day Christ will call His own to meet Him — the dead in Christ will rise, and we will be caught up to be with Him forever (1 Thessalonians 4:16–17).
What waits is not vague: new, imperishable bodies (1 Corinthians 15), and a new heaven and new earth where God dwells with His people and "shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death" (Revelation 21:4).
This is the blessed hope (Titus 2:13) — not that you must hold on tightly enough, but that He is coming for what is already His. And you are already His.
