Is Jesus the only way to heaven? Are there many paths to God?
Jesus is the only way. He said it Himself: "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me" (John 14:6), and the apostles preached "there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved" (Acts 4:12).
What the text states
This is not narrow-mindedness but the plain claim of Christ and His apostles. Jesus is "the way" (John 14:6), the "one mediator between God and men" (1 Tim 2:5), and there is "none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). The reason is the cross: if any other path could save, Christ's death was needless. But the same exclusivity is matched by the widest welcome, the one way is open to everyone: "whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" (Rom 10:13). One door, and it is open to all.
Pluralism holds all sincere paths reach God. We hold Christ's own exclusive claim (John 14:6), balanced by the universal offer, one way, open to whosoever.
