Does Hebrews 6 teach you can lose your salvation?
No. Hebrews 6:4-6 is the strongest-sounding warning in the New Testament, but it warns against the danger of falling back, addressed to real hearers, without teaching that a true believer is finally lost; the same book affirms Christ "is able... to save them to the uttermost" (Heb 7:25).
What the text states
The warning is severe: those "once enlightened," if they "fall away," cannot be renewed to repentance (Heb 6:4-6). But the writer immediately says of his readers, "we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation" (6:9), distinguishing the warned from the saved. The warnings in Hebrews function as God's means to keep His own pressing forward (like a road sign that keeps a real driver on the road), not proof that a sealed believer can be un-sealed. The same letter says Christ saves "to the uttermost" (7:25) and that His one offering "perfected for ever them that are sanctified" (10:14). We take the warning as real and the security as real: God uses the warning to keep the saved.
Arminianism reads Hebrews 6 as proof a genuine believer can apostatize and be lost. We hold the warnings are genuine and are the means God uses to preserve His own, while the sealed believer cannot finally fall (Heb 7:25, 10:14; John 10:28).
