Life
Morningstar Christian Chapel began in April of 1985, having grown from a home Bible study. The church met in a rented elementary school until 1988, when, as it puts it, “the Lord provided the present location” in Whittier. Since then it has added classrooms and doubled the size of the sanctuary.
The church describes itself simply: “Morningstar Christian Chapel is a fellowship of believers in the Lord Jesus Christ”, and “We are not a denominational fellowship, nor are we opposed to denominations as such, only their over-emphasis on the doctrinal differences that have led to” division.
Within the Calvary Chapel Association he is the regional leader for Los Angeles County, listed with Morningstar Christian Chapel on the Association's own regional page.

What he teaches
We believe in the Bible as the inspired, inerrant Word of God, by which all things pertaining to life and godliness are given to us. Therefore, we prioritize knowing God through the study of His Word. (2 Peter 1:3)
We believe that God sent His only Son, Jesus, to atone for the sins of men by dying on the cross as their substitute so that anyone placing their faith in Him and being born again, can receive forgiveness and the gift of everlasting life. (Ephesians 2:8-9; John 3:3-5; John 3:16)
We believe that we have been created for God's pleasure, and as His church, we are to worship Him as an expression of our love. Our worship must be spiritual and is expressed through our singing, praying, giving, and obedience to His Lordship in our lives. We look for His love in our lives as the supreme manifestation that we are truly worshipping Him. (Revelation 4:11; Psalm 95:6; John 4:24)
We believe in the fellowship (koinonia) of all true believers in Christ. We place a high priority on the gathering of the Body of Christ together to provoke one another to love and good works. We understand the importance of body (church) ministry, each individual doing their part for the whole body, and thus every need is met. (1 John 1:3; 1 Corinthians 1:9; Hebrews 10:24)
We believe in the need for discipleship and training for the perfecting of the saints and for the work of the ministry. Christ has called His church to go out and make disciples. Following Jesus and serving Him requires sacrifice and commitment. Training means being equipped and not just educated or informed. (Ephesians 4:12; Luke 9:59-62)
We believe the only true basis for Christian Fellowship is His (Agape) love, which is greater than any differences we possess and without which we have no right to call ourselves Christians.
