The Jubilee Trumpet
“Then shalt thou cause the trumpet of the jubile to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month, in the day of atonement shall ye make the trumpet sound throughout all your land.”

Every fiftieth year, on the Day of Atonement, a trumpet sounded across Israel and everything reset: debts forgiven, slaves freed, land returned to its family. “Proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof” (Lev 25:10).
The liberty was announced on the one day the high priest went behind the veil with blood, the atonement and the freedom on the same day. Isaiah wrote the jubilee into a prophecy of the Messiah: “to proclaim liberty to the captives... the acceptable year of the LORD” (Isa 61:1-2). And Jesus opened His public ministry by reading it aloud in Nazareth, stopping mid-sentence, and saying, “This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears” (Luke 4:21). He announced the jubilee.
