What happened at Miletus in the Bible?

Rather than lose days at Ephesus, Paul called the Ephesian elders down the coast to here for his farewell, and charged them with the costliest words a pastor can hear: "feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood" (Acts 20:28). Then they knelt and wept, knowing they would not see his face again.
