If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, Paul, writing concerning baptism, said that we were buried with Christ in the waters of baptism. So the water, actually, represents the grave and the old life, governed by our flesh, was buried in baptism. But coming up out of the water, is like Jesus coming out of the grave into the newness of life. And so we have been risen with Christ.
Paul said, even in the likeness of Christ’s resurrection, so are we raised in a new life in Jesus. The life that we have now in Jesus is a life that is governed by the Spirit. And so if and since you are risen with Christ, seek those things which are above. Seek the Spiritual things. Seek the heavenly things.
