Come Unto Me: The Universal Invitation
Matthew 11:28-30 is Christ's most direct universal invitation. 'All ye that labour' is not a subset. It is everyone who is weary. The invitation is real, the coming is genuinely volitional, and the rest is genuinely offered. This passage destroys the notion that Christ invites only the elect: the scope is universal, the condition is simple, and the response is the individual's own.
