A Ransom for Many
Mark 10:45 is the most compressed atonement statement in the Gospels, and it comes from Jesus's own lips in response to James and John asking for thrones. The contrast is decisive: not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. The one with all authority has not come to receive what His authority deserves. He has come to give. The lytron anti pollon (ransom in exchange for many) is the foundation of Thread 7's open invitation: the payment has been made, the water of life is without price, because the price was already permanently paid.
