Three Parables of the Lost: Thread 1 in Full
Luke 15 is the single most concentrated expression of Thread 1 in the NT. Three parables, one argument: God seeks the lost. The shepherd leaves the ninety-nine. The woman sweeps the whole house. The father sees the prodigal from far off and runs. The seeking is not passive, not coercive, and not limited. And in the third parable, the son who returns does so with a genuine volitional act: 'he came to himself... I will arise and go.' The returning is real. The welcome is real. This is Provisionism in narrative form.
