Lydia and the Philippian Jailer: Two Responses
Acts 16 shows the Heard → Believed → Sealed mechanism in narrative form. Lydia: the Lord opened her heart, divine initiative (Thread 1). She attended to the things spoken: genuine human engagement (Thread 4). The Philippian jailer: a crisis moment, a genuine question ('what must I do to be saved?'), a genuine answer ('believe on the Lord Jesus Christ'), a genuine response. Both conversions show the same structure: divine reaching and human responding. Neither is a predetermined motion executing. Both are real encounters.
