He Rose Up Betimes and Sent
2 Chronicles 36:15-16 is the theological summary of the entire monarchy period, written after the exile by people who had already seen the consequences. Its verdict: God rose up betimes and sent, the initiative was always divine, sustained across decades and generations. The people mocked, despised, and misused: the refusal was always human, sustained and chosen across the same generations. The result: there was no remedy. Not because God's mercy ran out. Because the people's refusal had been so complete and so sustained that the covenant consequences were now unavoidable. Thread 1 and Thread 4 operating at historical scale.
