Who are the two witnesses in Revelation 11?
Two prophets God raises during the tribulation to testify in Jerusalem for 1,260 days, with power to shut heaven and turn water to blood, killed by the beast and raised after three and a half days (Rev 11:3-12). Their identity is debated; the signs point to Moses and Elijah figures.
What the text states
Revelation 11 describes two witnesses who prophesy in sackcloth, are protected until their testimony is done, then killed, and resurrected as the world watches (11:3-12). Their powers, stopping rain (like Elijah) and turning water to blood (like Moses), lead many to identify them with Elijah and Moses, or with Elijah and Enoch (the two who did not die a natural death). Scripture does not name them outright, so we hold the identity loosely while affirming the plain event: God will have a bold witness even in the darkest days of the tribulation.
