What did Caiaphas prophesy in John 11:51-52?

SHORT ANSWER

Whosoever Will, Not For Ours Only: John puts the same reach into the cross itself. At the plot to kill Jesus, Caiaphas says more than he knows, and John records that "he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation; And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad" (John 11:51-52). The death was aimed past one nation, to gather the scattered into one. Scope is written into the account of the cross, not read back onto it. Scripture, King James Version: John 11:51-52, "And this spake he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation; And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad.".
