The Bible describes two great creatures fitting no living animal: behemoth, with a tail "like a cedar" (Job 40:15-17), and leviathan (Job 41). On the young-earth view, man and the great created reptiles lived at the same time, and these may be them.
What the text states
"Dinosaur" was coined in 1841, so the KJV uses older words. Behemoth "moveth his tail like a cedar" (Job 40:17), which fits no elephant or hippo but does fit a great long-tailed reptile. Leviathan is armored and fearsome (Job 41). On the young-earth timeline humans and these creatures were contemporaries, exactly what Job, the oldest book, would record; dragon legends across cultures remember large reptiles.
Old-earth views place dinosaurs millions of years before man and read behemoth as an elephant. We hold behemoth's cedar-tail fits a great reptile and that man and these creatures coexisted.
