What was the route of Paul's second missionary journey?

SHORT ANSWER

Paul's second journey (Acts 15:36 to 18:22) went overland through Syria and Cilicia to Derbe and Lystra, across to Troas, and over into Europe, Philippi, Thessalonica, Berea, Athens, and Corinth, returning by sea through Ephesus and Caesarea to Antioch. "And from thence to Philippi, which is the chief city of that part of Macedonia" (Acts 16:12).

What the text states

After parting from Barnabas, Paul went through Syria and Cilicia "confirming the churches" (Acts 15:41), revisited Derbe and Lystra (16:1), and passed through Phrygia and Galatia (16:6) down to Troas (16:8). There the gospel crossed into Europe: Samothracia and Neapolis (16:11), then Philippi, "the chief city of that part of Macedonia" (16:12), Thessalonica (17:1), Berea (17:10), and Athens (17:15), before a year and a half in Corinth. He sailed home through Cenchrea (18:18) and Ephesus (18:19), landed at Caesarea, and went down to Antioch (18:22). Acts 15:36 to 18:22.
