Is struggling with sin a sign that I am not really saved?

SHORT ANSWER

Chuck Smith, Why Grace Changes Everything, chapter 9: In one sense, the fact that a battle exists at all is a real cause for rejoicing. If we hadn't been made alive spiritually by God, there would be no conflict. If my spirit were still dead in trespasses and sins, I wouldn't be struggling with evil desires. I would dive right in and live after the flesh. The fact that we find ourselves in this fight is strong proof that we are indeed children of God.
