Is Jesus God? Did Jesus claim to be God?
Yes. "In the beginning was the Word... and the Word was God" (John 1:1), and Jesus said "Before Abraham was, I am" (John 8:58). In Him "dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily" (Col 2:9).
What the text states
Jesus is called God directly (John 1:1, 20:28, Titus 2:13), does what only God does (forgives sins, Mark 2:5-7; receives worship, Matt 14:33), and took God's name, "I am" (John 8:58), at which the Jews took up stones for blasphemy. He is "the image of the invisible God" (Col 1:15), fully God and, in the incarnation, fully man.
The Witnesses render John 1:1 "a god" and read Jesus as created. We hold the grammar and the whole New Testament make Him fully God, worshipped and named as such.

Wave 4. 50 quoted fragments table-passed against the verses table, splitting every quotation at its ellipsis. 49 pass. ONE CORRECTION: the file quoted "Dead in sins" (Eph 2:1); the KJV reads "dead in trespasses and sins", and the quotation was corrected to the table. One exhibit does not resolve and ships omitted rather than guessed: what-does-dead-in-sin-mean listed 'is-faith-a-work', which is not a slug on this site (the nearest is is-believing-a-work); flagged for Darren.
