How old is the earth according to the Bible?
By the Bible's genealogies and a literal Genesis, the earth is thousands of years old, roughly six thousand by the traditional count, not billions.
What the text states
Genesis 5 and 11 give ages from Adam to Abraham, and from Abraham the dates are historically anchored; summed, they place creation on the order of six thousand years ago. The "day" of Genesis 1 is bounded by "evening and morning" and numbered, the normal Hebrew ordinary day. Jesus spoke of man "from the beginning of the creation" (Mark 10:6), not billions of years after it. We hold the young-earth timeline as the plain sense.

Wave 4. 50 quoted fragments table-passed against the verses table, splitting every quotation at its ellipsis. 49 pass. ONE CORRECTION: the file quoted "Dead in sins" (Eph 2:1); the KJV reads "dead in trespasses and sins", and the quotation was corrected to the table.
